MasterTech – Hot Rod Digital Design: Trunk Build

This course blends traditional craftsmanship with modern digital workflows to create high-end automotive interiors with greater precision, speed, and profitability. Learn how router templates, CAD design, laser cutting, CNC machining, Peel 3D scanning, Autodesk Fusion, and 3D printing work together as one efficient system.

All skill levels are welcome. Whether you're new to digital design or an experienced fabricator looking to expand your capabilities, this course provides a structured, step-by-step learning experience that meets you where you are and helps you build confidence with modern fabrication technologies.

Watch a full-scale trunk build come to life live on stage using multi-layer panels, advanced routing, aluminum inserts, lighting integration, vinyl embossing, and premium finishing techniques. Every process is demonstrated in real time to show how top builders achieve OEM-level fit, depth, and detail while reducing labor and guesswork.

Students will also complete a hands-on Mini Trunk Build take-home project designed to reinforce the techniques, workflows, and fabrication methods taught throughout the class.

Important Notes:

  • Each student MUST bring a laptop and mouse to class to get the most from this training experience. Software required: Autodesk Fusion 360, 

  • Arrival flights and travel are recommended to be booked one day prior to the training event’s start date. 

  • Return flights are recommended to be booked one day after the training event’s conclusion date. The last 3 hours of class on the final class day are the most important hours for class attendance.

Are there any suggested prerequisites prior to taking this class?

A basic understanding of woodworking equipment is strongly recommended. 

 

Who should attend?

Installation Managers, Hot Rod Builders, Installation Technicians, Cut and Sew Interior Technicians, Shop Personnel serving in a related function. Anyone with the passion and interest in building custom interiors!

 

What is included in the cost of tuition?

Lunch each day, as well as snacks are all provided at our training facility so there is no need to leave during the training session. This maximizes your time spent learning while providing an incredible value. Hotel accommodations are not included, but Mobile Solutions has negotiated a great rate for attendees at a nearby hotel, the hotel includes continental breakfast.
