Local author and 20 year automotive specialist, Tony Candela, provides the answers to weekend DIYers and professionals alike with the publication of Automotive Wiring and Electrical Systems.
This book has been published by CarTech Books under their SA Design series.
After years of collecting critical data, the author realized most automotive enthusiasts are intimidated by the challenge of repairing, servicing, or troubleshooting anything to do with the wiring or electronics in a vehicle. Many enthusiasts drive older vehicles that can be plagued with electrical gremlins of all types due to their age and the number of people that have serviced them over the years. A few of the many common side effects of these gremlins can be overheating, fuel delivery problems, safety, a dead battery, or even a difficult to start vehicle. Very few professionals specialize in this area, leaving enthusiasts few places to turn when faced with such problems.
There are more aftermarket electronics available for vehicles today than ever before. Interfacing even the simplest of these electronics in modern vehicles can be an incredibly difficult task for even seasoned enthusiasts. The author says, “My objective was to provide a clear and concise foundation that the enthusiast could easily comprehend in the first chapter, and build on that knowledge throughout the entire book.” In addition, the book provides real world examples of problems Candela says most enthusiasts have faced at one time or another, as well as their easy to follow solutions. Automotive Wiring and Electrical Systems includes more than 350 full color pictures and diagrams to support the text, as well as numerous step-by-step examples of common electrical interfaces and projects. |
